Penchant for lying unmasks pathological liar

/ 02:00 AM April 30, 2012

Asuncion David Maramba’s April 17 commentary, “Choice is between ‘fit’ or ‘unfit’,” hit the nail right on the head.

She is correct in pointing out that surveys must not be prohibited during the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona as the people have the right to know what’s going on and to freely express their opinions on the issue. After all, they are judges too and should not be locked out of the trial.

Maramba is also on the right track when she said that the trial has turned out to be a “conceal-more, reveal-more” enterprise. “The concealment has managed to spring more leaks than the Dutch dikes. For at the very same time that the defense plugs leaks on dubious deals, dollars, declarations and discounts, behold, it has also succeeded in unfolding and displaying a devious character, piece by piece and step by step, that could implode by its very own weight.”

I believe that Corona is unfit to continue as Chief Justice because of his questionable and devious character, plus his penchant for lying in his statements of assets, liabilities and net worth. How can we trust someone who seems to be a pathological liar to continue to sit at chief magistrate?
