Is Laoag City the PH’s ‘street parking capital’?
Laoag City is fast becoming the “street parking capital” of the Philippines. Almost every street in the city is peppered with illegally parked vehicles and tricycle “pila.” Even the street at the back of the Laoag City Hall has become a parking space for city government employees.
This problem is not only true in the centro of Ilocos Norte’s capital; many city and barangay roads have turned into “private garages.” Thus obliterating the real purpose of these roads and impeding quick response during emergency cases.
Per observation, city officials don’t seem to care about this matter. If they do, then it’s far from apparent.
