Game ‘ka na ba,’ students?
Instead of lamenting the state of our educational system, may I propose a concept on how to augment the learning curve of the students?
Being an educational game show advocate and creator, may I suggest a typical/conventional game show concept as guide for school’s extracurricular activities?
A game show where a contestant garnering the highest score after a few episodes (say three or four) will be declared a champion, or by elimination (pyramidical structure) where contestants garnering the lowest scores in every episode shall be removed until one reaches the top. I suggest that the number of contestants be more than 12 or upon the discretion of the organizer.
Article continues after this advertisementThe range of questions shall be based on spelling, math (4÷2×3+9-7=?), picture (flag, people, etc.), fill-in-the-blank ( tense, idiom, adverb, etc.), multiple choice, and direct answer (general knowledge, etc.). Questionnaires must be in consonance with the 3Rs. The manner in answering is by writing on a whiteboard which in effect will also showcase each contestant’s range of knowledge (hindi paunahan/tap-the buzzer-first system). This concept will promote competitive psyche, intellectual health, excitement among the students, and goodwill to all.
