NPA should be held to account

/ 04:02 AM November 01, 2021

The case of Keith Absalon, a football player at the Far Eastern University, and his cousin Nolven is not yet over. They died due to a twin explosion caused by an improvised explosive device set up by the New People’s Army (NPA) in Masbate City. The victims also suffered gunshot injuries.

As a citizen, I appreciate the Commission on Human Rights-Bicol for conducting an independent inquiry on the actions of the NPA. We are in a democratic country, and justice should prevail. Tolerating this kind of inhumane and barbaric action is unjustifiable. Those accountable should face the consequences. Let us be vigilant and report on the NPA’s lack of respect for our human rights.
