Pacquiao using Bible to suit his political agenda?

I do not exactly know what Sen. Manny Pacquiao is trying to project.

According to an Inquirer report, he said that God allows governments to use capital punishment and that even Jesus Christ was sentenced to death. However, practicing Christians anywhere in the world believe that He did not deserve to die at the hands of the Roman government.

The Philippine Supreme Court, in the 2004 case of People vs. Mateo, itself recognized the whopping judicial error rate of 71.77 percent in death penalty cases. This means roughly three out of every four people were wrongly meted out the capital punishment. And had the treason case of Jesus Christ happened today, He would be part of this statistics.

Is Senator Pacquiao really trying to invoke the Holy Bible or merely twisting its content to suit his political agenda? After all, President Duterte quipped that Pacquiao might become president of the Philippines one day. (God forbid!)
