Urgent call for lifting of TRO on RH provisions

12:04 AM January 25, 2017

What’s holding the Food and Drug Administration from re-certifying for use oral contraceptive pills, Implanon and Implanon NXT? These contraceptives are not abortifacient and are safe to use?

This is a very urgent call for the immediate lifting of the temporary restraining order issued by the Supreme Court barring the implementation of certain provisions of the Reproductive Health Law.

We are running out of time. A whopping P250 million worth of Implanon and Implanon NXT intradermal implants are about to expire in 2017. Also, the Department of Health’s supply of oral contraceptives has run out.
