Right solution to drug problem

01:34 AM August 29, 2016

I THINK the government’s violent approach to solving the drug problem is not the right one and could only be temporary.

Poverty is the root cause of the problem. Many Filipinos, especially the poor, don’t have jobs and they resort to drugs as their only way out of poverty because they don’t know any other means to earn money.

I think it would be better if the government shifted its attention to poverty alleviation and job creation. I think this would be the more effective approach. It would even contribute to our economy and generate for our national government additional tax revenues.
