‘English Club’ piece drawing members

I JUST wanted to give you a feedback on my article “the American English Club,” which appeared in the Inquirer’s July 10 issue.

In the 12 hours between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. of July 10, more than 250 new members joined the club, all as a direct result of the article. Many of these new members are already actively participating in the English learning activities offered on the website. And new members continue to register, up to the time of this writing.

In addition, I have been approached on the street by people who recognized me from the photo accompanying my byline. They all expressed support for the project, and encouraged me to continue publishing learning articles in the Inquirer.

My appreciation to the Inquirer for supporting me in my effort to improve the English skills of the average Filipino.
