PR man’s inaction brings plea to insurance commissioner’s lap

In connection with my claim for refund of premiums paid under Prudential Life Policy No. 011923811 from the financially collapsed Prudential Life Plan, I sought the help of the Insurance Commission’s public assistance department headed by Cris Rafal. I e-mailed my plea for assistance on Oct. 8, 2013, and when no response came, I followed it up on Nov. 5, 2013. Not true to its moniker “public assistance,” the department ignored my plea.

In complete contrast, the Inquirer readily lent its hand on the issue when it published my letter (“Insurance Commission sleeping on claims,” Opinion, 7/1/14), which was followed by another (“Stone deaf public official and agency,” Opinion, 12/5/14). It appears that Rafal has chosen to play the “stone deaf” role to the hilt because as of this writing my plea remains not acted upon.

Hopefully, Commissioner Emmanuel Dooc is of a different breed from Rafal. All I’m asking is information on when I would be getting my money back. If the issue is sub judice, so be it. But please…
