Some “Yolanda” funds were released by the Aquino administration recently. But why only now? Why has it taken so long to release funds intended to help the survivors of the strongest typhoon to hit land? The call and warnings to get residents out of the path of the typhoon were poorly managed; so were the recovery, rescue and relief efforts in the aftermath of the typhoon.
Basically, everything about the performance of the Aquino administration in response to Supertyphoon “Yolanda” was extremely bad. In the words of international journalist Anderson Cooper, the Aquino administration was “inefficient.”
President Aquino has to do more, but then if he himself believes that he has been doing a wonderful job, how can we expect more from him? How can the Yolanda survivors expect more help from President Aquino who thinks he is doing enough for them?
