With his prime behind him, time for Pacquiao to retire

01:44 AM April 21, 2014

Mommy Dionisia and wifey Jinkee have very wise advice for Manny Pacquiao: Retire now. Yup. Leave while the audience is still applauding.

Given his age and the blows on the head he has received, Pacquiao, most objective observers say, has his prime behind him.

And, we need to know more about the Manly Art of Modified Murder. About “chronic traumatic encephalopathy, a progressive brain disease caused by numerous hits to the head that has been discovered in former athletes during autopsies.” We don’t want any boxer to be like stammering, stuttering Muhammad Ali, a great physical specimen in his prime.

On Manny’s taxes, BIR chief Kim Henares can only be supported, even cheered, in her determination to settle the arrears issue. Promoter Bob Arum after all said that relevant US Internal Revenue Service documents were on their way here last November yet. By snail mail? It is now April.

On Kim’s shame and prosecute campaign, she and President Aquino should work harder on convincing the people that tax money is not used improperly for pork barrel but properly to give our people a better life.

On what Manny has just earned, how nice if he, Mommy and Wifey were to announce that half of it he would give our people as taxes or donations. Then he retires and starts working finally as a congressman. So far what we have had is an impostor who only excelled in absenteeism. A Great Pretender as congressman.

Will he again aspire to be an Absentee/Impostor Senator in 2016 and President in 2022? Pretend is not a game forever and a day.

Yes, boxers, wrestlers and football and hockey players should have their heads examined in concussion cases—a matter which has inspired a law course in the United States (International New York Times, April 15, 2014).
