There are big signboards in some of North Luzon Expressway’s tollgates. These heralding the words: “Easy Trip.” From these signs, many motorists get the impression that they are just meant to deliver a usual courteous greeting to motorists—for an easy, safe and/or happy trip through the NLEx.
Unknown to many, however, the signs mean that these tollgates/lanes are exclusively for prepaid toll card holders! But given this impression, many motorists choose to pass through these gates, then have to back up because the barriers don’t go up because the laser machines don’t read their cards. All the cars behind them also have to back up to give way to the car of the motorist who made a mistake.
Why not state simply the signboards’ message: “This lane is for prepaid card holders only” or something to the effect— to spare the motorists and riding public the inconvenience.
