Dear Madam:

Today, December 20, we  commemorate the death of my parents, sister and all those who have perished in the World’s Worst Sea Tragedy, the sinking of MV DOÑA PAZ, when it collided with an oil tanker in Tablas Strait, Mindoro.

It has been 25 years since the death of my beloved parents and sister. I should say 25 years of painful memories and leaving us orphaned for the rest of our lives.

But it did not stop my brothers and sister from praying and thanking the Lord for all His love and spiritual guidance through the years and specially during the time of our sorrow, grief and mourning, and most specially for always giving us joy and peace in our hearts this Yuletide season.

A blessed Christmas to everyone.

Very truly yours,

Maita Espina-Abunales

Bacoor, Cavite
