‘All-heart king of comedy’

/ 12:01 AM July 17, 2012

One of the famous anecdotes about the late comedian Dolphy: When he was asked to run for president given that he was a “sure winner,” he replied, “Paano pag nanalo (What will I do if I win)?”

Dolphy was known as a man with a big heart, and with a wit that was down-to-earth, “street-smart” and that made people laugh. He knew more than anyone else that the president and leader of the Filipino people should have all the heart to help and protect the most helpless sector of our society—the poor.

Maybe Dolphy should have run for president.
