UP eyeing only one site in Senate transfer

/ 12:42 AM July 16, 2012

The report titled “Senate plans transfer to UP campus at Diliman” (Inquirer, 7/12/12) lists two sites as “possible locations for the Senate in case it moves to Quezon City.” These are the “Capitol site” and the “AIT site,” both along Commonwealth Avenue.

Please note that there is only one site that can accommodate the needs of the Senate if indeed it decides to transfer to UP. The available site for the Senate to lease is a five-hectare UP property beside the UP-Ayala Technohub and behind the Petron gas station.

We assure the UP community that the Arboretum, which is located further back of UP-Ayala Technohub, will remain a protected area.
