‘Trillanes will sell you to the devil;’ but who’s the real Mephistopheles?
President Duterte warns Filipinos to be wary of former senator Antonio Trillanes IV as he will, according to the President, sell the people to the devil. I’m sure Trillanes will not sell us to the President.
Since 2016, who has really acted like the Prince of Darkness? More than 30,000 suspected drug addicts/small pushers, labor, student and peasant organizers, human rights defenders, lawyers, etc. have been arbitrarily killed by the police and unidentified armed men.
Billions of drugs were smuggled by the Davao group, and what did the President do? Nothing. He simply transferred his appointees at the Bureau of Customs to other areas, and a case was filed against the whistle-blower.
Who meekly gave up the hard-earned victory of the Philippines in the West Philippine Sea? Wasn’t it the Mephistopheles in Malacañang?
Who dilly-dallied in banning the entry of travelers from China—thus the spread of the COVID-19 virus which today has infected more than 500,000 Filipinos?
