In need of policies with vision

We are not saying we don’t need Band-Aid solutions. We do. But when we propose policies and laws that are bound to affect generations, we go beyond shortsightedness.

They say we should lower age of criminal liability because children are being used by criminals. Then why run after children when they are clearly victims in this case? Why not catch instead those who make children their instruments in perpetrating misdeeds?

Besides, when children up to 9 years old can be prosecuted, these criminals will start using children who are even younger. Should we lower some more the age of criminal liability when that happens? Are we merely playing limbo rock here?

Why not create policies that decrease incidences of broken family and unplanned parenthood, two of the major reasons why some people, left to fend for themselves, commit crimes at such tender ages?
