Boracay as eye-opener

Despite the sad closure of Boracay, that development is a path toward improving the management of the island and implementing sound measures for its sustainability.

President Duterte’s speedy action has bravely corrected problems in Boracay. Hopefully these changes will also be implemented in other top tourist destinations.

Meanwhile, the Department of Tourism must be given a free hand to plan out the tourism industry’s future through coordination and partnership with local government units.
