Waste management as national issue

I’m a Canadian new immigrant living in Surigao City. It is shocking how filthy this area is. Filipinos have no pride in their environment and throw garbage quite easily.

The filth is disgusting. I came to live here but after six months, I am leaving. I simply cannot take the filthy open sewers and garbage anymore.

Filipinos get angry when I ask them to throw their garbage in the bins!!!

Why is this not a national issue? Where is the media? Have some pride and self-respect. The filth is shocking.
