Finally, President Duterte has formally suspended talks with the National Democratic Front. This faction has long been playing cards with the government. Well, our president is clever enough to step out of the game. If the NDF thinks it could manipulate the government by employing its old dirty tactics, it is mistaken.
Peace is even more possible if the state force would just take the field to attack all of these rebels, than negotiate with them knowing that nothing could ever break their old quirks. The suspension of the peace talks is more of a loss on their part because their unjustifiable demands will now be infeasible.
If they think that the government will give in to their
demands, they must think first of their numbers compared to that of our state forces. It is about time to give these rebels what they truly deserve.
