We, from the Forum for Family Planning and Development, find it offensive to liken our family planning advocacy to drug killings as ways to solve Philippine population woes.
Such depiction, through an editorial cartoon published in the Jan. 17 issue of the Inquirer, is very much opposed to what we, pro-RH groups advocate.
The Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Act (RPRH, or what is more commonly referred to as RH law) is prolife and proinformed choice. It is a comprehensive program that promotes good, quality life, and it starts with providing families—the women and mothers especially, the option to choose any modern family planning method that will be good for their health and welfare, and it goes beyond the use of condoms.
The forum, together with other pro-RH groups, does not approve of killings, through any means, to solve the Philippines’ population problem.
What our country needs right now is to act as one in upholding the RH law. We call for its full implementation so that accessible and affordable resources may reach all women and mothers across the country.
