The more necessary question

12:09 AM January 10, 2017

Lawyer Bryan Dennis Gabito Tiojanco’s “What lawyers don’t get about Duterte” (Opinion, 1/5/17) is a well-written piece, except that I don’t get why his title focused on lawyers when the main message appears to be really directed at Congress.

Never mind what we lawyers don’t get about President Duterte. Who can claim anyway that they really get this President?

I fully agree with Tiojanco that “Congress cannot continually fiddle while the country burns.” What does this Congress fail or refuse to get about Mr. Duterte? That is a more interesting and necessary question.
