P-Noy admin spent P7B for failed tree planting project

12:03 AM August 02, 2016

A PERSON’S success is measured by the degree of his accomplishments against his commitments. In his first State of the Nation Address in 2010, then President Benigno S. Aquino III, unequivocally proclaimed he will cause the planting of 1.5 billion trees during his six years in office, for which he issued Executive Order No. 26 (National Greening Program) on Feb. 24, 2011.

In this regard, the Commission on Audit on April 24, 2015, declared that the project was a complete failure and that it squandered P7 billion of public funds.

Was the Aquino administration, therefore, successful or not? You be the judge.
