Why Jovy enters Filipino Valhalla where he belongs

/ 04:14 AM March 17, 2016

Having lived a life unselfishly devoted to the Filipino people, especially the poor, Jovito Salonga remains a sterling paragon of true service to the nation for those who seek to serve it. I am proud that when he was the president of the Liberal Party, I had the privilege to serve him for three years as deputy secretary general and eight years as secretary general. He has been my party mate for over 50 years.

Through the years, I have been continually awed by his intellectual depth, moral integrity, uncompromising nationalism and unaffected humility. No doubt, he belongs to the Filipino Valhalla.
