‘Battle Royale’ 6 years hence; heaven help us!
“CHIZ, BONGBONG remain statistically tied in VP race” said a front-page report in the March 5 issue of the Inquirer. From being a candidate who many thought would never see the light of day, Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has proven himself to be more resilient than initially perceived by the pundits. His successful run for the Senate in the last national elections may have seemed like a fluke, but there is little doubt now that he is a force to reckon with.
What does a Bongbong Marcos victory as vice president mean? One thing for sure: Edsa I was a colossal mistake! The whole world would laugh at the Filipino people for being so fickle and hopelessly crazy! Heck, the whole world is already laughing at us for the obsession of close to 60 million among us who swoon and shriek at every worthless thing that is being churned out of that “AlDub” freak show!
If Bongbong becomes vice president, it will be just a matter of time (six years) when he and the entire Marcos clan head back to Malacañang. Even if Jejomar Binay wins the presidency and plans to have anyone in his dynasty succeed him, he cannot stop that from happening. It seems fate has already decided who will prevail in that “Battle Royale” between two obnoxious dynasties! Heaven help us!!
