Binay’s breakaway from P-Noy: Better late than never
VICE PRESIDENT Jejomar Binay’s belated breakaway from the administration further confirms the growing unpopularity of President Aquino and the strong demand for accountability and change. Binay realized that his ratings will continue to slide down if he continues to be allied with the corrupt, anti-people, massacre-prone administration. Binay must come clean and fully expose the Aquino administration’s corrupt acts. Despite its spins and gimmicks, the Palace can no longer hide the fact that, at this point, President Aquino’s endorsement is a kiss of death.
The people demand accountability and change. The 2016 elections will be about making President Aquino and his “yellow leadership” accountable for plunder through the Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP) and Priority Development Assistance Fund, its criminal accountability for failed post-“Yolanda” relief and rehab, bloodied hands in the US-directed Mamasapano offensive, puppetry and sellout of sovereignty through the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement, the tragic state of the MRT and other social services. The elections will be about reversing the antipeople policies implemented by the Aquino administration which brought about greater poverty and hardships for the Filipinos.
Worries that the Liberal Party will resort to dirty tricks and massive poll cheating are well-founded. Its candidate, Mar Roxas, is kulelat and unpopular, and can only win via the use of manipulated surveys and hocus-PCOS cheating. The LP is clinching last-minute corrupt deals and contracts and using DAP-like funds for election campaign purposes. The candidates and the people must demand that the Aquino administration be held accountable for its crimes and that automated cheating machines be junked in the 2016 elections.
