Historical presentation hailed
This refers to the photo that appeared on the Front Page of the June 13 Inquirer issue. The photo showed a part of a video mapping presentation commemorating this year’s Independence Day celebration at the Aguinaldo Shrine in Kawit, Cavite. The video mapping presentation is a first of its kind in the country. It shows Philippine history from Magellan’s discovery of the country on March 15, 1521, to the revolution and the day of independence from Spanish colonization at the turn of the 20th century.
The presentation has truly touched the hearts of many Filipinos who have witnessed this lesson in our history in the grandest manner at the facade of the Aguinaldo Shrine. I commend the Department of Tourism and the Tourism Infrastructure Enterprise Zone Authority, the National Historical Commission, Optimum Show Company and local officials for organizing the successful historical laser show and for the impressive use not only of lights and sounds, but also of video to remind our people of our history.
May it inspire every Filipino citizen to strive to make our history something that we can truly be proud of before the rest of the world.
