Choosing between two ‘incorruptible’

This is in reaction to the news report headlined “Poe snaps back at Binay: Country needs honest leaders” (News, 5/19/15).

Sen. Grace Poe is a winnable candidate. Is she decided to run for president in 2016? Yes, she is a neophyte in politics but she has proved her worth in the Senate.

What we need in 2016 is an honest, God-fearing and competent candidate, a leader who is not just untainted by corruption but who is also incorruptible and will govern our country with utmost sincerity. That is why President Aquino is looking for an “alternative” candidate who will continue his “tuwid na daan.”

Senator Poe deserves to be president. But we should not discount the fact that aside from her, there is another incorruptible person—Interior Secretary Mar Roxas. Based on surveys he is lagging far behind Poe. But why base our judgment on surveys? After all, Secretary Roxas is an experienced politician and he is not tainted by corruption.

FEATURED STORIES

If the country really wants good leaders, it would be best to have a Mar Roxas-Grace Poe tandem in the 2016 election. Then we will be assured of another six years of good governance.
