PDI on the side of people, truth

/ 12:02 AM February 02, 2015

Advocacy groups and individuals espousing various causes often find it difficult to present their issues before media, leaving the bigger picture unseen in public debates, thus drowning out the truth in favor of falsehoods and mockery.

In the debate surrounding the fraud-tainted provider of the automated election system and the Commission on Elections, the Inquirer, unlike other newspaper dailies, has notably taken the cause of the people in pursuit of the truth.

We, in the Citizens for Clean and Credible Elections, would like to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation to the editors of the Inquirer for their pro-truth and patriotic position when reporting on the illicit Comelec-Smartmatic “romance.” In this Inquirer example lives the spirit of true and professional journalism.

As we extol the Inquirer’s resolve to chronicle the truth, it is our ardent hope that the newspaper remains on the side of the people in protecting and upholding their sovereign will until all evils of the Smartmatic system shall have been totally exorcised, thus ensuring clean, credible and transparent elections
