A way to deter robbery of jewelry stores
Jewelry stores (including pawnshops) inside malls often get robbed by the notorious, so-called Martilyo Gang, whose modus operandi is to break the shelf glass encasing the jewelry being sold with hammers (purchased from a hardware store also inside the malls). Sometimes the robbery turns bloody when the gang engages the security on duty in a shootout.
I suggest that instead of the genuine jewelry being displayed, only their corresponding pictures with code numbers be posted for the customer to choose from. Only the piece(s) of jewelry chosen by the customer will be shown one at a time.
With such security measure in place, the Martilyo Gang would have no more glass to break and jewelry to steal. Jewelry stores would not be tempting targets for robbers.
