P-Noy in quandary on how to get rid of overstaying ‘house guest’

01:25 AM November 15, 2014

How does a homeowner get rid of a house guest who has overstayed his or her welcome? That seems to be the quandary of President Aquino. He told Vice President Jejomar Binay that the door is open if the latter is no longer comfortable being a Cabinet member. Unfortunately, Binay is deaf to the President’s “open door” policy.

What President Aquino can do is to declare all Cabinet positions vacant and then he can rehire those he think will be able to help him in his last two years as president. With his declaration that he is not interested in extending his term, he should feel free to push for really meaningful reforms that will not just improve the economy of the country but also create job opportunities.
