SC’s Christmas gift in defense of people’s economic rights

08:31 PM January 01, 2014

The Supreme Court TRO is a Christmas gift in the defense of the economic rights of the people. We cannot allow power companies to exact their pound of flesh from the public. Power should remain a business imbued with public interest, and we commend the Supreme Court for recognizing this.

We cannot allow power generation companies to continue operating without accountability to the public. Distribution utilities cannot also remain unpunished for business miscalculations resulting in unreasonably higher power rates.
