The balm of a clear conscience is what Maribojoc (Bohol) Mayor Leoncio Evasco Jr. has. No outsider can know better than the local mayor how best to allocate resources. Locally.

Mayor Evasco was ordained as a priest and fought the dictatorship, going underground. He was detained for almost a decade until we released him when we took power in 1986. He was active in Selda, a human rights group of former political prisoners detained in the time of Ferdinand and Imelda Marcos.

He simply wanted a better system of distribution to avoid denial or duplication. No rocket science. No trapo politics.

I doubt if the unelected, respected, urbanized Red Cross is allowed anywhere to enter a disaster area and treat it as its fiefdom and its elected officials as dishonest country bumpkins from out of the sticks.
