Prisoners thank Palace, Congress for RA 10592

/ 08:58 PM July 21, 2013

On behalf of the quarter of a million prisoners and our families, we express our sincerest and deepest gratitude to President Aquino and to the members of the House of Representatives and of the Senate for Republic Act No. 10592.

RA 10592 brought to our very doorsteps and prison cells the beneficial challenge to reform old ways and adhere to prison protocol without hesitation. The public can rest assured that we will face this challenge head-on and with open hearts, in order to be reunited with our loved ones and rejoin free society sooner and, we hope, while still in our prime.

We all stand in humblest reverence for these men and women, and in gratitude for their compassion, understanding and care for the welfare of their strayed brethren. Their unanimity, vigilance and steadfastness in amending and keeping our penal laws abreast with those of advanced counties have helped keep our faith in the system, which was almost lost in the pit of hopelessness. We will cherish their kindness deep in our hearts.
