OVP: Binay not for Koko

/ 11:15 PM February 03, 2013

We wish to emphasize that Vice President Jejomar C. Binay is supporting exclusively the candidates of the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) in the 2013 elections.

This should clarify the unfounded claim of letter-writer Ben Ranque who said the Vice President is “silently campaigning” for Sen. Koko Pimentel (Inquirer, 2/2/13).

While Senator Pimentel is the PDP-Laban president and the signatory to the covenant of unity between the party and the Puwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP) that led to the creation of UNA, he has opted to run under the administration’s Team PNoy. He is not with UNA. Therefore, he is not being supported by the Vice President.
