In disagreement, but remains PDI subscriber

“PDI Mover of Public Opinion.” As much as I would want to respond to your Jan. 4 editorial titled “Birth pains,” it is proper to let the case run its course and show respect for the highest court by not publicly commenting on the merits of my own petition.

But since your paper has begun to throw sub judice out of the window, let me say that your editorial has done well to engage public opinion on this issue because my mother-in-law is now my biggest fan. And for that I thank you and remain a subscriber of your paper.

In the meantime, I hope the Supreme Court justices will get to read your editorial and consider inviting your learned writer as amicus curiae when the time comes.
