Faith and practice
I refer to the June 24 column of Patricia Evangelista, where she lengthily talks about contraceptive morality (Inquirer, 6/24/12).
Her punch line—“This is what the Catholic Church is afraid of losing…. its own moral authority to control the creation of a state where every citizen is allowed a choice, even when that citizen is a woman”—shows that her 14 years of Catholic convent school education did not go beyond memorizing the simple catechism.
Being a Catholic, it behooves her to continue going deeper, nonstop, to mine the wisdom of her faith, even before she criticizes the practice.
