God help us if Duterte makes it to the Senate
President Duterte is running for senator obviously out of spite toward Sen. Richard Gordon, whose Senate blue ribbon committee has been investigating the looting of pandemic response funds by Mr. Duterte’s friends in the Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corp. in the tens of billions of pesos. He has been cursing Gordon on TV almost on a nightly basis and bullying him into ending the investigation.
According to Mr. Duterte, it is time senators like Gordon should be taught “proper decorum” in their behavior, especially in the conduct of their power to investigate. He surely must be fantasizing about becoming Senate president to be in a position to exercise such control. Coming from one whose penchant for vulgarity and profanity knows no bounds, and whose defense of the biggest crooks exposed by Gordon’s committee has become so shameless and shameful, that should be rich. If he makes it to the Senate, God help us!
