The God of Christianity is unique. Other gods are known as a presence, a force, a way, or as an enlightenment, but our God reveals Himself as a God who loves us, and the very world we are living in. For those who take pride in being intelligent and bright, take note that God who is supreme intelligence, chose to call us to His sacred heart, not to His sacred brain. We are all called to love, more than to be smart.

With so many present-day issues, opinions, and views, let us be guided by St. Augustine’s words of wisdom: “Unity in essentials; respect in doubtful matters; but love in all things.”

It has been 86 days since the March 15 lockdown and quarantine. So many things have changed, and so many reflections and lessons as well. As it were, according to my confrere, Fr. Noel Rebancos, the Lord removed work from our hands so that we could focus more on the love in our hearts, and build better relationships and prayer life. Amen!

June 12 is our independence. May the Blessed Mother continue to bless, guide, and protect our beloved country, our leaders, and our people.
