Spread more info, not fake news, on the nCoV outbreak

Certainly there is now a growing public health threat posed by the novel coronavirus (nCoV). The Department of Health (DOH), television networks, and even churches have issued guidelines on how people can protect themselves against this dreaded virus.

I suggest that these guidelines, as well as other information about the virus, be conspicuously displayed as well in the halls of local government units (LGUs), the lobbies of hotels, and on bulletin boards in schools and markets, plazas, social halls, malls, bus terminals, and all other similar places frequented by people.

This can stem the tide of fake news and disinformation about nCoV being peddled by doomsayers.

The local health boards of LGUs should also push for responsive and proactive measures on how to safeguard the health of people in their communities.

Let us help the DOH.

The department is chronically stressed and it can only do so much. It needs all the help it can get.
