Three presidencies – and Naia is still a nightmare

/ 05:10 AM December 05, 2018

Unbelievable — three presidencies and there’s still no relief for passengers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) terminals, especially Terminal 3.

Takeoff waiting time sometimes take 30 minutes, and landing takes 10 minutes.

I wonder how airlines are coping with additional waiting time and  fuel costs.

Our plane had to park far away from the terminal and passengers had to take a shuttle. Approaching the terminal, we saw a vacant bay.

The airport’s outdated facilities and air transport services are getting worse, not better, given the growing air travel market.

Kawawang Pilipinas, kawawang ordinaryong mamamayan.

How to get out of the terminal without a private car?

There were long lines at the Grab counter and taxi stand, but no vehicles to pick up the passengers. It was past midnight and there was one UBE Express, but it would go only as far as Buendia.

Desperate to get home, we took the P150 charge per person. We saw several taxis along the main road waiting for passengers.  We should have just walked out of the terminal to get these taxis.

What is preventing regular taxis from being integrated into the Naia transport system?

We went down on Edsa and took the regular bus from there.

Bumper to bumper on Edsa at 1 a.m., but at least vehicles were moving.

When will we have our new airport?
