Boracay’s recurring waste problem

Cleanliness is one of the most important attributes that tourist attractions must possess.  This can’t be overemphasized enough.

However, the report “As visitors to Boracay reach more than 6,000, uncollected trash again starts to pile” (10/29/18) was very discouraging to read.

I was perturbed, angered and dismayed at how undisciplined visitors persist in uglifying Boracay with their actions.

Boracay was closed six months ago precisely because it had become  a “cesspool,” as President Duterte described it.
