‘Wanbol U’ alumnus for Senate president?

05:03 AM May 01, 2018

This refers to the article “Sotto on likelihood of leading Senate: Who am I to refuse?” (4/27/18). The catchy head, at first, struck me as one hell of a sick April Fool’s joke, if not fake news.

But as I read on, I realized that I was mistaken, as Senate Majority Leader Vicente Sotto III, a noted alumnus of Wanbol University in the TV sitcom “Iskul Bukol,” indeed has pointed his magical wand to the chair of Senate President Koko Pimentel, a bar topnotcher, president of the country’s biggest political party PDP-Laban and strong ally of President Duterte.

If one is to analyze this highly suspicious move, it will clearly lead to the inevitable removal of Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno, with Sotto acting as presiding officer in her impeachment trial in a “moro-moro” fashion.
