Just in time

The impending closure of Boracay to local and foreign tourists for six months is the only way to clean up the island thoroughly.

Although resort owners and other business establishments and their employees will be greatly affected temporarily, the end result is for the benefit of everyone in the long run.

Aside from the Philippines, Thailand as reported in the news recently, was also doing the same thing of cleaning up its own mess.

Why think of the lost opportunities and income derived from tourism if our environment is affected by our wrongdoings?

The government stepped in just in the nick of time to save the island paradise of Boracay  from further environmental degradation.
