Brave women

Inquirer’s report about personnel of the online news site Rappler receiving Omidyar’s donated financial instruments (“Omidyar donates $1.5-million investment to 14 Rappler managers,” 3/1/18) makes for happy news.

The list of the 14 new owners of Rappler shows they are overwhelmingly female—except perhaps for Dominic Gabriel Go who may be the sole (token?) male in the group.

Brave Filipino women like them are on the list of outstanding citizens like Sen. Leila de Lima, Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno, journalist Solita C. Monsod and several others who are shining examples for us all. They are a refreshing change from the hollow men in power and their blind followers who compose this nation’s shame.
