Please allow us to clarify the story “NFA selling Valenzuela property to transport agency for P1B” (Business, 1/11/18).

First of all, the sale has not yet been finalized. It is still under negotiation.

The National Food Authority (NFA) and the Department of Transportation engaged the services of two different appraisers who came up with two different appraised values.

However, the NFA management is positive that this matter will be resolved soon, and that a mutually beneficial resolution will be reached.

The interagency NFA Council was set to meet last week with this matter included in the agenda.

We have called the attention of your reporter, Karl Ocampo, regarding this clarification, thus we were surprised that the same issue appeared last Jan. 12 (BizBuzz, “Property windfall”) without the above clarification that everything is still under negotiation and that no final price on the property has been arrived at.
