Public vs political interests

I don’t know why some of our lawmakers are consistently opposing the extension of martial law despite the clear necessity to push for it.

It would be pleasing to know that they are doing this out of their desire to protect the rights of our countrymen, and not out of their selfish motives to pursue their political interests.

I just find it absurd that their “concern” over martial law is worse than the Mindanaoans themselves.

Aren’t they doing research on why people do not oppose it but support it instead?

Or they are just blinded of its advantages because all that they could see is what would better serve their political interests?
