Bato should cry for Kian and Carl

/ 05:02 AM September 09, 2017

PNP Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa was very emotional and tearful at a Senate hearing while denying that President Duterte had given instructions to shoot suspects in the all-out drive against drug users and dealers. His sincerity in defending the police force that he heads is a given.

But the PNP is mandated to serve and protect all of us. If even only one life is lost in a police operation, that’s one life too many to lose. The 17-year-old Kian Loyd delos Santos and 19-year-old Carl Angelo Arnaiz both will be young forever and will not see the light of another day. They deserve a tear from Dela Rosa.
