‘Dangerous, lethal virus’

/ 12:12 AM June 12, 2017

I am a Maranao presently based in Metro Manila. I fully condemn the terrorist attack in Marawi City. I cannot say for sure what is the real motive of the Maute group in attacking a government hospital in the city. One thing sure is, the Maute terrorists should all be condemned for the death and destruction they have caused.

Also known as Dawlah Islamiyah Philippines, the Maute group espouses hatred toward non-Muslims, boasts of loyalty to the Daesh/Islamic State, and waves the black IS flag as its revolutionary banner. It should not be allowed to thrive in Mindanao or elsewhere.

We have seen video clips showing how ruthless and barbaric the IS terrorists are in the pursuit of their objective of creating a new Muslim caliphate. But all their deeds are all contrary to the teachings of Mohammad and Islam.

The ideals and ideology that the Maute and other terrorist groups intend to adopt and propagate in Mindanao and the rest of the country should be stopped by every peace-loving Filipino—be they Christian, Muslim or of other faiths.

Terrorist groups should not be allowed to proliferate in our country, and all Filipinos, particularly the security sector and other concerned agencies, should do all they can and exert all their might to prevent the spread of this
dangerous, lethal “virus.”
