MNLF should be part of peace process

/ 03:22 AM August 23, 2011

The Tokyo meeting between the Moro Islamic Liberation Front chair and President Aquino is a welcome development in our elusive quest for peace in Mindanao. However, it is suggested that the pursuit of peace—the search for solutions to the problem in Mindanao—should be anchored on a holistic approach.

The Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) is a party signatory to agreements with the Philippine government. The matters agreed upon by the MNLF and government should be considered in any agreement entered into by the government with our brothers in the MILF.

The above approach will surely usher peace in Mindanao.
